    How to sew fabric pumpkins…

Autumn is my favourite time of year, misty mornings, sunny afternoons, all the colours, walks through the leaves, I love it all. I’ve been making these fabric pumpkins for a few years now, every year I find myself adding to my collection as they’re such a fun, speedy project and a great way to use up scraps. Here I’ve included instructions (below) and a FREE print at home downloadable template so that you can make your own. NOTE: To print the pumpkin template you’ll need to download the file and then ensure you print out at 100% scale. Once printed, check your test square measures 1″ or 2.5cm and cut…

My Three Versions of the Davenport Dress by Friday Pattern Company…

Now and again a pattern is released, and you know immediately that you NEED to own it and get it into your wardrobe asap.  This was the case for me when Friday Pattern Co released the Davenport Dress pattern.  I loved the boho style of this dress and the little details involved, such as the gathered yoke at the back, the shoulder flutters, the elasticated neckline and let’s be honest – who doesn’t love a drawstring waist anything! Tilly and the Buttons Pearl Cardigan | A sewing pattern review…

It’s always an exciting day when Tilly and the Buttons launch a new pattern and I was so happy to be offered a copy of the Pearl Cardigan to try out before the launch date.  (This pattern was gifted to me with no obligation to share but of course, I loved the finished result so much that I had to!). Pearl is described as an ‘on trend’ V neck wrap cardigan.  The cardigan is cropped at the waist and fastens at the side with adjustable ties for the perfect fit. There are three options for sleeve style with the pattern; choose from long straight sleeves, short sleeves or (my personal…

My Favourite Makes of Summer 2021

Summer is probably my favourite season to sew for.  I feel most inspired when planning for floaty summer dresses and pretty woven tops.  This year, the weather was particularly uninspiring but I still managed to make up a few things to see me through the season.  Here’s a quick run down of my top three makes from summer 2021. My frill collar blouse hack…. I’m never quite sure what to title this make but I guess the title I’ve given it is a pretty good description.  Early at the beginning of summer, I made a list of three things I’d like to make to add to my summer wardrobe this…
