It was requested that I share the finer details of It was requested that I share the finer details of my wool Ilford Jacket so of course I jumped on that 😆 I absolutely love how this turned out and I can’t wait to wear it more this winter time. This is the first time I’ve lined the Ilford and I love the finish I think I’ll definitely be lining my future versions more. Since this wool was quite heavy weight I chose to bias bind the seams rather than double turning the button band and hem. I was trying to be frugal by using the binding I already had in my stash but you’ve no idea how much I wish I’d bound the hem in the same black as the sides - ah well! 🙈 For buttons I went with metal snaps rather than attempting to sew buttonholes and they work well and I love the finish of these. A few close ups of, yes, another Ilford Jacket hac A few close ups of, yes, another Ilford Jacket hack 🙈 This one is fully lined again and I’ve removed the collar, rounded the edges and bias bound it all for a ‘high-street’ feel. I’ll share how this one looks on soon but for now let’s just admire the details. I’m really enjoying trying to get my finishes as polished as possible in my sewing lately - very therapeutic 😊 Ps. Who remembers this fabric from summer-time?? I or Who remembers this fabric from summer-time?? I originally said I was going to sew (another) Ashton Top by Helen’s Closet with this beautiful embroidered cotton gauze by Atelier Brunette but I ended up getting side tracked by a Darling Ranges blouse which I thought might be more wearable in the colder months. The Darling Ranges dress is one of my favourite ever patterns (as you probably know) but I’ve only ever made one version of the blouse option so far. It’s such a pretty and super quick blouse to sew up though and I love the V neck.
