I’m not going to mention for now, the large list of autumn makes that I still wanted to get finished before spring -oops! I’m sure they will still get made at some point…  In today’s blog post, I’m going to be sharing five NEW dress patterns that I would absolutely love to sew up for spring time this year! I’ve purposely chosen transitional pieces this time, so dresses we can wear layered when it’s still a little bit chilly and on their own when it’s warmer outside. I’ll also be sharing…

Planning my sewing for 2025 | How I plan & what I want to sew this year…

How I like to plan my sewing… When it comes to planning for a new year of sewing, I like to look back on the previous year and think about what worked, what went well, what I enjoyed sewing and what has worked well in my wardrobe. I’ve already gone through this in rather a lot of detail in this video here and blog post here so I won’t go over that again but for me that’s a big part of the process in planning for the year ahead. I also find this kind of fun to do too. You can also watch my ‘video version’ of this blog post…

How to | Sew a Luxury Loungewear Set using the Hudson Pants and Jarrah Sweatshirt patterns…

I love a good loungewear set, it doesn’t take me long after walking in the door to change into something super cosy to sit and watch the tv in the evening, so this is one I’m really excited to share with you all. Back in autumn, over on YouTube, I made a video listing three high street looks I wanted to recreate for autumn/winter and one was a luxury loungewear set inspired by one similar to this Cashmere set from Debenhams. (My original inspiration was from The White Company but I can’t find that set anymore sadly). You can watch this video here and see what other looks I picked…

Three High Street inspired looks I want to sew this summer…

Hunting around on the high street and scouring Pinterest and Instagram for (yet more) sewing inspiration is one of my favourite things to do. I have a whole board saved on Pinterest for sewing inspiration (you can follow me here if you’d like to) and I tend to save looks and outfits that I’m inspired by on Instagram too. Today I thought I’d share with you three looks I’m loving at the moment and how I’d like to make my own garments this summer, using this inspiration. A blouse with a frilly collar…. Ah collars, they’re everywhere at the moment aren’t they and I’ll admit to having been pretty skeptical…
