My First Wildergown – a pattern and fabric review…
I absolutely loved the look of this Art Gallery Rayon fabric from Minerva particularly because of the beautiful rust/burnt orange colour of the print. I loved it so much that it took me ages to decide what to make with it because I had so many ideas. I’ve been thinking about making the Friday Pattern Company Wilder Gown for a long while now too and after a lot of deliberation I decided that the Wilder Gown and this beautiful, floaty rayon would make a perfect match. I am 5’ 3” in height and although I absolutely love the look of the full length dress, I decided that, for my first…

The Florence Blouse by Size Me Sewing – A Pattern Review (in collaboration with Makerist.Com)
Before Christmas Makerist kindly asked me if I would like to try one of the patterns from the designers they were featuring in a post Christmas $2 sale. Makerist have an amazing selection of craft patterns including sewing, knitting, crochet and embroidery, you can visit their website and view their vast collection here. Flicking through all of the lovely sewing patterns on their website the Florence Blouse caught my eye. I loved the relaxed style of the blouse and the shirring detail at the cuff. I thought this would be a make for my wardrobe that could be dressed up or down so I knew I would get a lot…

Tilly & The Buttons Mimi Blouse Pattern and Fabric Review
I have had the Tilly and the Buttons ‘Love At First Stitch’ book for a long while now and I’ve always loved the look of this blouse. As seems to be normal for me though, I decided to ogle it for a while before actually getting on and making it. I absolutely loved the look of this chiffon, navy and red leaf print fabric from Minerva and thought that it would be a lovely match for the Mimi pattern. You can find this gorgeous fabric here. Here’s a review of how I found both the pattern and fabric to work with. Pattern: Mimi Blouse from the Tilly and the Buttons…

‘Darling Ranges’ by Megan Nielsen |A Pattern Review
I first came across this pattern at the very beginning of my sewing journey and I remember thinking to myself how much I’d love to be able to make a dress like this. I love a shirt dress and I loved the look of the denim chambray version on the front of the pattern so I made it my mission to improve my skills enough that I could make my own version. Here’s a look at the pattern. The cover has actually had a bit of an update since I bought mine – the most recent copy is the one on the left but I’ve included a photo of the…

Pivoine Blouse Review – Delphine & Morissette
I made this blouse back last summer 2019 and, after posting pictures of it on Instagram, I had so many lovely comments, messages and questions about the making process that I kept saying that I would write a blog post on the pattern and I am just getting around to it now in May 2020!! Lockdown does have some advantages, it’s giving me time to write up a lot of my makes and it’s lovely to get them done and remember what I loved about them. So, anyway, I had seen so many beautiful versions of this pattern around and fell in love with it. I absolutely love French style,…

DIBY Club Emmeline Gathered Dress Pattern Review
It was so lovely of the DIBY Club to get in touch with me and ask if I would like to sample and review one of their patterns. I’d not heard of the brand before but a quick look over their website and I knew they would be right up my street. The DIBY (Do It Better Yourself) Club aims to teach you to make your clothes better than you can buy them with a focus on getting the perfect fit for your individual body size and shape. THE PATTERN I was asked to review the Emmeline Dress, a fit and flare jersey dress with a variety of sleeve and…
