How to sew a cosmetics bag in an hour! Easy beginner sewing project

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you how to sew up these super cute cosmetics bags. This is the perfect project for a beginner with a little sewing experience. Once you’ve had a bit of practice, these bags can be sewn in under an hour, they are also a perfect scrap buster! I like to sew them for gifts but I also have them all around my own house as they are perfect for storing not only cosmetics but knitting and crochet projects too.

For this project, you will need:

The pattern template which can be downloaded here. The template will need to be printed at 100% scale to ensure it has printed at the correct size. It should almost fill an A4 piece of paper.

2 x main fabric pieces approx 45 x 60cm / 18 x 24″

2 x lining fabric pieces (waterproof if you’re making a wash bag) approx 45 x 60cm / 18 x 24″.

My main and lining fabric used for the tutorial is from https://higgsandhiggs.com/

2 x fusible fleece approx 45 x 60cm / 18 x 24″ (optional). Can be purchased here.

1 x regular zipper 30.5cm / 12 “. Can be purchased here.
